Prayer & Bible Study

At our mid-week prayer and Bible study we sang:

Hymn 600 We Rest on Thee

Hymn 610 How Firm a Foundation.

We had prayer for Daniel in the opening prayer time and sought the Lord for His hand to be upon him to heal Daniel and to comfort the family in their time of concern for him.

The Bible Study was based on Mark 4:21-32.  We learned that this passage is an extension of the Lord's teaching on the parable of the sower.  The emphasis is on the hearing and receiving of the word into our hearts. We learned that this passage is an extension of the Lord's teaching on the parable of the sower.  The emphasis is on the hearing and receiving of the word into our hearts. We interpreted the proverbial statement, "with what measure you mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given," as the call to a thorough application of the Lord's word to our hearts.

See the pdf notes attached below.

In our prayer time, we called on the Lord to help those families dealing with health issues, to save family members and to revive our church attendance, especially on Sunday evenings knowing that the Lord builds His church sometimes imperceptibly, just as the mustard seed grows into a bountiful bush.

It was a time of united prayer with much thanksgiving and encouragement to our hearts.
