God’s Perfect World

Last week we learned that Jesus promised paradise to the dying thief who prayed to enter the Lord's kingdom, or heaven. You must know that there is no paradise in this earth, because we live in a broken world filled with sorrows, sickness, and death. But the world that God made at first where Adam and Eve lived was a perfect paradise.

When God had created the world in six days he announced that it was "very good". There were no problems in the world when Adam Even were first created. There was no need for doctors to heal and no need for police men to settle fighting people. Nor was there any need for preachers, because the newly created earth declared the glory of God.
We see this in Psalm 19:1, "The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork." The beautiful world that God has created is something like a mirror. If you look into a "mirror" it doesn't change anything, it lets you see things in its reflection.
The chief purpose of God creating the heavens and the earth, then, was to show forth His own glory.
The tall leafy trees, the blue skies, the green lush grass and shrubs filled the earth from top to bottom along with birds, fish, animals of so many kinds as well as Adam and Eve made God the Creator of all things look wise and powerful. God was pleased with His work and enjoyed the praises of all His own work.
Creation did not add to God's glory, for God is unchangeable. Creation became a showpiece to advertise the wisdom of God and the power of God. Who could create such a beautiful world where everything worked so perfectly? Only an all-wise and an all-powerful God could do that.

Before God created Adam and Eve and put them in this world, the world had to be just right to support human life.
It needed to have the right temperature - not too hot and not too cold.
It had to have the right amount of oxygen so that Adam and Eve could breathe to supply their lungs and blood system with oxygen.
It needed to have the right amount of moisture in the air or people's skin would dry out.
It needed the right amount of daylight to live healthy lives.
Adam and Eve could never have lived in this world without everything being perfectly ordered. Who planned and created all that so perfectly? God did it. He planned everything from beginning to end.
He made Adam with eyes to see God's beautiful world. He made Adam with ears to hear God's voice and to hear the sounds of the animals. God also gave Adam and Eve tongues to speak with vocal cords to shout and sing. All of this was God's perfect work and it proves that an all-wise Creator was at work during the 6 days of creation.
Then think of the birth of a new baby, that forms in the womb, and goes from depending on its Mom for oxygen to suddenly breathing the outer air while staying strong and healthy. Only God can do such amazing things.
No scientist has produced robots that can have baby robots! But God can make new babies with perfect bodies to grow into strong men and women.

Do you know the Shorter Catechism #1. What is man's chief end? Man's Chief End is to Glorify God, and to enjoy Him forever.
To "glorify God" does not mean "to make God glorious." God already is glorious. He has been glorious from all eternity, and nothing created by God can ever make Him more glorious than he already is. To "glorify God" must therefore be understood this way: it means to reflect God's glory. We are to act like mirrors of God's glory.

Why did God create you?
Through your love for God and your obedience to Him you announce or advertise that God is real, and God is an all-wise and all-powerful Creator.
Failure to reflect God's glory is to live a selfish life, a pointless empty life, or rebellion. You are created to obey God's commands and worship His name. You need to carefully read the Bible, talk to God in prayer, and worship in His house along with others who love and serve God.

Adam and Eve could worship God so easily because they at first had perfect hearts to love God and seek God all the time with joy. Before sin came into the world, Adam and Eve enjoyed God.
We need help to worship God with joy. Our helper is the Lord Jesus. Only when we invite Him into our hearts do we cease from our selfishness. We must make Jesus Lord of our lives and pray in Jesus' Name.
The first prayer we need to make is for a new heart. That means we pray to be born again with a nature to love and serve God. When you ask for that in Jesus' name you will then love God and glorify Him in all areas of your life. You will then live by faith, not by your own sinful ways.

To refuse to have Jesus live in your heart shows how selfish you really are. You want to serve and honour yourself, not the God of Heaven who created you. Therefore, you need to repent and believe on the Lord Jesus to be saved from your selfish proud heart. Then you will glorify God as your Creator! And you will enjoy Him for all eternity in the new heavens and the new earth God will prepare for His own people.
